Bicester Heritage April 2024 Scramble

Bicester Heritage April  Scramble is always a special Sunday in the Spring. The Scramble allows visitors to explore the historic motoring hub from 9am through to 2pm and to see behind the doors of the amazing businesses who work there, including showrooms and workshops.

HCVA members StarterMotor also had an amazing display of cars on the Orchard Lawn. Each of these cars had been brought along by young StarterMotor Ambassadors to 'show and tell' something that they have worked on.

We were honoured to have two important Jaguar E-types on the HCVA stand. Both cars have impressive histories at the hands of motor racing royalty.

ECD 400 is the first E-type to ever win a race, winning at Oulton Park driven by Graham Hill. This win was on the E-type's racing debut in April 1961, just a month after the iconic model was introduced in Geneva.

EOL 584C was converted to semi-lightweight spec in the 1980's and was later driven by the legend Sir Stirling Moss for the 1991 Manx Mountain Challenge.

This Scramble we've  introduced new information sheets to tell the story of each of the cars on our stand which proved popular with visitors, and we were thrilled with the level of interest in our work.

The Scramble is a superb event and clearly demonstrates the huge public engagement with the world of historic and classic motoring.
