Car & Classic is one of the largest automotive marketplaces in the world. We’re lucky to have thousands of user-generated listings submitted monthly with content gems from James Bond’s Aston DB5 to Elvis Presley’s Cadillac.
The site is old, launched in 2005 but under new, VC-backed ownership since 2018 and on an exciting triple-digit growth journey to bring classic vehicle transactions online. The role
You are a driven and passionate classic car expert with a relentless hunger for success.
You are a natural-born negotiator and can spot opportunities in every interaction, whether consigning vehicles to auction or gathering feedback from buyers and sellers to enhance our services. You’re probably well-known in the classic car auction industry, with a strong reputation for consigning high-quality and desirable vehicles. You are an organised and persuasive individual who would thrive in a fast-paced sales environment for a disruptive online auction service.
About the role
You will start by reaching out to your contacts, expertly managing inbound leads, as well as prospecting new leads to consign sought-after vehicles to our auction platform. You will manage your vehicles through all stages of the pipeline, ensuring your clients receive the best possible service and in turn become repeat customers and brand advocates.

Key Responsibilities:
Consign Vehicles:
Ensure the right pricing to move 40 vehicles per month effectively.
Generate New Customers:
Use your contacts and prospecting skills to bring new customers onto our platform.
Build and Maintain Relationships:
Cultivate strong relationships with sellers and clients, focusing on trust and reliability.
Encourage Repeat Business:
Provide excellent service to encourage repeat business and loyalty from sellers.
Lead Online Auction Sales:
Guide sellers through the online auction process, maximising their selling potential.
Attend Networking Events:
Represent our brand at networking events to increase awareness and build connections.

Skills & Qualifications:
Classic Car Knowledge & Experience:
Good knowledge and expertise in the classic car market, demonstrating successful sales outcomes in an auction environment.
Experience in Converting Leads:
Can expertly conduct effective inbound & outbound calls, from cold outreach to warm lead follow-ups, with a focus on relationship building and sales conversion.
Deeply Connected:
With a black book of contacts, you’re likely well-known in the classic car auction world.
Target-Driven Mindset:
Thrives in a target-driven environment, consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals and performance metrics.
Passion for Classic Cars:
Genuine interest in classic cars, with a network of contacts within the classic car community and a deep understanding of the market.
Ability to Generate Contacts:
Skilled in generating contacts from scratch, whether through networking, prospecting, or other means, to expand the client base and drive sales opportunities.
Strong Customer Service Skills:
Exceptional ability to build rapport and provide top-notch service to clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
Excellent Communication Skills:
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively to both clients and colleagues.
Action-Oriented Approach:
Hands-on, proactive attitude with a focus on getting things done efficiently and effectively, even in the face of challenges or obstacles.
